Association of Czech Cable TV and Telecommunication Operators (APKT) promotes the interests of small and medium CATV operators providing, as a rule, also all sorts of advanced telecommunication services. It represents the operators in negotiations with legislative and executive bodies, the regulators, societies for collective protection of authors´ rights, etc. APKT also organizes efficient use transmission capacity of optical backbone infrastructure provided by long distance telecommunication operators, centrally provided information-base services and mutual exchange of locally produced TV programmes. It helps its members to keep abreast with technological developments by means of regular specialized workshops accompanied by small-scale exhibitions of innovating products.
